The MG of the Frenchmen, flanking for own position, has probably jam? ;-) The Germans do not resist otherwise come to the hostile ditch!

Thank you Thomas. But yes, the Germans fight the French machinegun-position. As you know, the fire speed of the St. Etienne machinegun was not very high because of the loading stripes. And the MG is reloaded at the moment. But there are some Germans (one firing, one reloading, one throwing a hand grenade) fighting the machinegun-nest. Some can be seen on different photos. But if you would see the diorama in real life, you could recognize it. Perhaps next year in Mainz!!! :-)

Congrats Thomas for a fine victory  And just two pictures? (didn't we talk about that a few weeks ago in the chatroom ;-) ?)

Also my compliments to the other contributors of this fine painting competition! All my respect :notworthy:

Have to say- 2 nice pics over a collage usually wins my vote too, but either way the work is still great :-D

Congratulations Thomas yet again

I certainly voted for this from the start. You have an excellent eye for detail no doubting that. I particularly like the way you captured the twisted and shell torn look of the trees, and by doing so keeping within the guidelines of the theme of the comp. After all it did say "Forest fight" but did not say you had to have "live" trees. Again my congratulations

Some very strong challengers all around again this time. Well done to all

Cheers
