Revell 2563 French Knights

Posted by Peter on 11 Jul 2024, 21:51

Part 1/6

Finally I've painted my first 1/72 scale figures of this year. These knights were actually first made by Accurate but Revell reissued them. My youngest son bought these on a second hand market and they were so ugly painted that he asked me to repaint them. I will paint them in six groups, as much as there are riders in the set. This is the Black-Orange gang with a touch of blue! And I hope you like them. ;-)

More pictures of the seperate figures on my blog (I'm a bit to lazy to post them here  ):

I'm working on gang number two! :-D

Don't be so lazy Peter, now I'll have to visit your blog :P
Love the orange and the combination of colours; good job on those figures.

Perhaps it would be a good idea to post some pictures of the condition of the newly purchased figures so that we can compare them with their final condition, Peter.

Of course I love the figures, you have painted them beautifully...but the most important thing is that your son likes them, of course.

Thank you Ben, Javier, Jacob and Santi!

@Ben: yes they have! :-D

@Javier: trying some new combinations of colors. I don't want to paint them in red-white or blue-yellow. ;-)

@Jacob: I always keep it simple on the metal parts. GW chainmail with a black wash for the armor and gold and silver for the weapons. ;-)

@Santi: he didn't see them yet. And as said on the blog they will be for sale when they are all done. ;-) Next post I show some of the figures how they look likewhen he purchased them. :-D

Great work Peter. I love the Accurate/Revell 100 years war sets. The English set was one of my earliest sets I got and brought me so much joy playing with them. You’ve given these French chaps real life to them.

They look fantastic Peter. Ready to burn Joan at the stake or poke a few Brits.

Very eye catching blend between the orange and blue, always nice to help the son out with the paint job ;)

Thank you Rich, David and Owen!

@Rich: the English figures are indeed great figures to.

@David: if they don't behave they go back in the box!

@Owen: and he helps me with other things, that's what family is for! ;-)

Next gang is ready and this time it is teh Violet-Green gang with a touch of yellow. I couldn't take a before picture of these because they already had their base color when Santi asked. But I did for the next gang so then you will see them before my painting started. I hope you like these!

Lightning wasn't good on these but I take better pictures at the end of the project. Pictures of the individual figures can be seen on my blog: https://peterscave.blogspot.com/2024/08 ... ts-26.html

Up to the next bunch of figures. ;-)

Peter, these new knights look just as spectacular as the first ones... although I liked the colour scheme of those ones better.

I'm looking forward to the next bunch and what colour scheme you will have chosen for them. ;-)

Great job again Peter. Perhaps you can start choosing colour combinations to match your favourite football teams?

Thank you all for your nice comments!

No colors of any team at all! I try to keep it neutral!

Here we go with gang number three. This time the colors are a dark brown with beige and a touche of red. And so I'm half way with this box of figures. Working on gang number four. I hope you like these.

And here is how they looked before I took care of them. On special request of Santi! ;-)

Thanks for the detail, Peter. This way you can appreciate even better the fantastic result of your paintjob which, although the colour combination is not as striking as with the previous gangs, is still equally awesame.
