Incredible work - utterly Superb,

I have to ask - how do you make - and secure your musket - rifle smoke, I know it can be done with cotton wool.

I also have a Waterloo dio on the go at the moment its about the deffence of LHS farm and in 28mm scale -

You might like Ligny although the early stages were part of the learning curve.

Antietam of course is still ongoing.

I use cotton wool which when teased and warmed ( I breathe on it) can be very effective as musket smoke.

Less is more here as a lot of modellers have huge cloud banks emanating from their weapons. Watch out for lumpy bits which need removing.

The method of attachment is to thread the ‘smoke’ onto the barrel, generally over the bayonet. It’s fiddly, but especially when combined with my disco smoker fairly effective.

The Antietam WIP has tutorials on explosions etc which you might find useful.

Thank you kindly Chris for explaining all that, I think the whole Waterloo thing fascinating dating back to when I messed around with that Airfix 72 scale LHS war set with those impossible to paint soft plastic soldiers.
I had not red through my build to see your replies (so my appologies) I did a right up explaining my timeline for my dio - just hope I am doing it justice.

Hi,

Yes this was the great Photobucket rip off period that wrecked so many peoples hard work.

Page eight onwards are stamp free although you can get the gist even with the stamp.

I have seen and commented on your excellent work.

Not sure about Polish lancers knocking around La Haye Sainte, French line perhaps but definitely the cuiassiers, they caused a lot of mischief.

I had read that the Lancers where involved in Two actions on the day attacking Ponsombys charge on the centre along with the cuirassiers, and then the massed attack on the squares on the East side of the farm (from the French perspective)
I had thought using a bit of poetic licence that the odd lancer might have been close to LHS.

Sorry I meant they attacked the squares on the West side viewing from the French end.
