Charlet's Brigade

[Captain Sibourne]

I've been hard at work on my Waterloo project and have produced three battalions of French infantry for Charlet's Brigade, which is shown advancing north just to the east of La Haye Sainte.

The figures are a mix of plastic and metal. The rear battalion is almost all by an old make called RSM. The lead battalions are by Art Miniaturen, NapoleoN, Schilling and various plastics. There is also a Zvezda/Hat horse battery. They are in the standard six company French battalion organisation with four fusilier, one grenadier and one voltigeur company each of 100 men. In all there are some 2,000 figures. You have to imagine that La Haye Sainte is to their left and the sandpit is to their front.

Sadly yours truly left the UK this week so i missed out on seeing this monumental piece of work by less than a month. Could you elaborate on where, when and for how long your Waterloo display will be open to the public?
Have you thought of contracting a professional photographer to show your work at its very best? Please don't get me wrong because your photos are very nice but an expert would take your gigantic layout to another level (you and i both have terrible problems with depth of field). I think you should seriously consider it and then perhaps transform those photos into a book similar to what Wolfgang Meyer and friends did with their Crobern Diorama. Who knows, maybe he might read this and reach out to offer some advice.

Thanks KB, my photos are terrible and I'd be the first to admit it! I have had it photographed properly before but there are always new bits being added. The exhibition is at a school and is being privately arranged. It will only be possible to see it for one evening.
