Lion Rampant unit

I think my last Lion Rampant unit - Foot Men-at-Arms.
I have enough figures for two retinues which gives me a lot to choose from.

I'm fairly pleased with these figures though I wonder if their shield designs look a bit Art Deco?

Nice work donald. These knights look like the real thing, in that you have chosen a reasonably subdued colour pallet and livery pattern (including shields, which I think are appropriate and not too art deco!).

These will be a credit to you once they are out on the battlefield and laying about them with those murderous knightly swords and axes!

These look really nice and the shields are well painted. My only thought would be less silver, as I don’t know they would have much of that colour in that time, assuming the shields are wood with metal boss and banding?

I may be an indifferent painter but I'm a worse photographer!
The shields are grey (not silver), red & black - with steel rims & boss only.

It's clearer in reality than in the photographs.

At some stage I should photograph the entire lot - about 60 figures.

In what movie was it that they used silver shields to reflect the sun in the enemies eyes? I can't remember.

I love the red and white cloak. The shields are painted precisely but the do not look very medival to me. But I am not an expert. Nevertheless: Cool gaming piece!
