The FIGZ Promo Team was in Lingen again. After the participation at the Model Building Fair in January, the second appearance this year.
http://bennosfiguresforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=26182We had less space than last time, but of course we were not such exotics, because at the Euro Modell Expo there were of course not mainly model railways, LEGO model worlds or huge sand landscapes for RC model vehicles.
Therefore, first the reference to this year's FIGZ in Arnhem on 4 June. It would be nice if as many as possible come. This time Remco could also show a film, presenting impressions but most of all the familiar feeling!
It was again very nice to spend the weekend with the four colleagues from the Netherlands.
They are all so nice to speak English, as I still haven't learned Dutch. But Martin said to my excuse that it was really not easy either.
We continued working on our projects from January. Unfortunately, I still haven't managed to finish my French infantry in the coat of Art Miniatures, but hopefully it won't take long. I will report here then. And I am also very happy to see Hans' field airfield with all the planes he has built so far.
As every time, however, Remco's Legion in particular caused quite a stir, as it continues to grow. There were even (female) fans who wanted to see how much had been added since the last visit.
It was an opportunity to show the second Group Build from 2016 again and a small part of the third one from 2017, as an example of the work from different froum members from all over the world.
http://bennosfiguresforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=169&t=18877It was nice to meet friends and hobby colleagues. Besides Eric Jan (see above), for example, "DasDirch" was there (unfortunately not right next to our stand this time) and Thomas Mischak paid us a surprise visit, which was very nice.
He reminded us of a meeting many years ago. At that time I was still a silent participant from afar, admired the figure heroes on the internet and never thought I would sit at the same table with these people.
http://www.fuhrmann-figuren.de/projekte/waterloo_1815_nl-ol_2008.htmMartin was there with his shop this time, but he had his 3D printer with him again and there were many interested people who had questions about it and wanted to have a look at the technology.
https://www.miniatuurwereld.comThe first day of the fair was much fuller and there were more conversations with the visitors. On Sunday it was much quieter. But let's hope that such fairs will continue to take place despite the internet, because I think it's great when you can look at the models, dioramas and also the dealers' offers live and examine them.
As an example: I was really impressed by this Spanish company producing amazing buildings.
https://www.balwward.com/en-gbI also liked this box cover of a limited edition model. Did not saw it finished.
The competition was again very impressive and there was an abundance of great work to see.
Have a look here for all the details...

Special mention from my point of view:
"The Terror"
Amazing model remembering the famous historical expedition from John Franklin
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Franklin%27s_lost_expeditionAfter a speedy dismantling together, the hope remains that there will be a next time, but as far as I have seen, EME 2024 has already been announced.
