Kostis Ornerakis is no longer with us

Posted by nikosmadakis on 24 Jul 2022, 11:02

Hello everyone

My name is Nikos Kosmadakis, a close friend of Kostas.
I am sorry to inform you that Kostas passed away after having an operation. The post surgery stress turned out to be too much.

He wouldn't shut up about this forum and all the wonderful work of the members. It was a very important place for him to get online and chat with other modelling masters. I know he has a lot of good friends here.

I will try to post some pictures of his latest work in the following months, once things start getting back to almost normal for the family.

Thank you.

Really, this is so sad news. He will be missed here! :(

I was always looking forward to his contributions in the painting competitions. I knew I would see a small masterpiece when I opened the mail.

I don't know what to say...

Here we meet and share time but we don't really know anything about anyone.
We feel the person, but we only scratch small moments in the life of each of us.
Then news like this reminds us that each of us has our own life that we are completely ignorant of.
Despite all this, the feeling is to have lost someone close and appreciated.

Sit tibi terra levis, Kostis

Hard and sad news, great artist although I didn't know him only because of this forum and the love of modeling we already are or were partners in life.
RIP.

He was so kind to send me one of his own creations and I would really love to paint the figure and post it here, so that he could have seen it.
We really lost a great artist in the forum. My condolences to his family.
Thank you for taking the time to inform us!

I have been totally shocked when have entered the forum and have sawn this sad news. :(

It's still hard for me to believe. Kostis was one of the first friends I made here soon after I joined the forum. For me he has always been a master to admire and from whom to learn a lot.

It's an irreplaceable loss. I join the condolences of all the forum members, specially to his family and other friends outside the forum.

Fortunately, we will keep the best memories from him because his masterpieces will remain with us for ever in his posts of the forum.

I proposse to open a new thread collecting all the works of Kostis that can be found in the forum and putting them alltogether in tribute to such an excellent person.

Rest in peace, Kostis. I will always keep you in my memory.

Santi.

That is very sad news indeed.

Kostis had such a remarkable gift for breathing life into a diorama, his contributions were always wonderful.

But I think he will be missed here as much for his appreciation of other peoples work as for the genius of his own. And for His always good natured interaction with everyone here. His posts seem such a big part of the forum, I think we will all miss him very much.

My condolences to his family and friends for their loss, he always seemed to me to be a lovely man.

Hello,
Like all of you I am sorry to hear this sad news.
My sincere condolences to the family and friends (here and elsewhere...).

I had spotted Kostas with his profile picture ;-) (with his little daughter I think), his kind messages to comment on my paintings and also and especially his incredible talent especially on the last contest with his Vignette on Venice which was simply magnificent 8) and without weapon... :yeah:

He is in the painters' paradise now... :notworthy:

Thanks to you Nikos for having taken the time and the courage to inform us (this is the only message where I did not click on "I like")
