Griffon

Can anyone recommend a model of a mythical griffon that would compatible with 1/72 scale figures? I'm not looking for anything too big, some of the 28mm models I have looked at would be too massive for what I want.

Hadn't realised that before but as it's a medieval thing not an ancient middle middle eastern thing I'm coolwith it. I tracked down one of the Wizkids ones - thank you Carlosfaro it's on order now.

Do we really know what scale a fantasy creature should be?

A Hobbit is half the size of a Human, a Dwarf a bit bigger than a Hobbit. A Balrog, about 13ft tall, a unicorn ?, horse sized, Mermaid/Merman/undine as big as a human. Orcs/goblins, Uruk hai, around about human size. Centaur, Horse sized, Werewolves, Vampires, Zombies/revenants..human sized though in the case of the werewolf..in one form, a bloody big dog. Golem...depends on how much mud is available. The above need to be 1/72nd scale (for my collection )
Though the above is a tiny Proportion of mythical/Fantasy critters and with a lot of em, giants for example size is anyones guess.

With regard to the size of the Gryiffon, I'm using one for wth the Alliance Amazons - the 'historical' ones. I really like them, they're quite close to original illustrations from Greek vases, and the images also show gryffons - some with wings some without. The griffon represents the two noblest animals - the eagle and the lion, but none of the illustrations show a monstrous creature, they're normally shown as horse(ish) size creatures.
It's true there are no indications about 'real' size but I don't like things to over-power the table and I want them to look in propotion to the other figures.
Carlofaro's Wizkids suggestion is a nicely sized model for what I want, so that's the one I went with.

The model arrived today - excellent service from the ebay seller.

It is perfect for what I want, even the base fits in well with the rest of the army. The painting is a bit bland but once it is repainted and based I will post an image.

What started out as an Amazon army (with Gryphon) has morphed into a Dark Age/Early Classical Greek project. And that was boosted by the release of pictures of the Alliance centaurs.

There will be more pictures eventually.
