My latest purchase in other scales

Yes Dalibor, Games Workshop figures, the whole Set of 80 Mag`s would cost £960.00.
Therefore i have no intention of subscribing!
I put three of the figures together and for little o`ll me it was kinda awkward I had to shorten some of the pegs to make them fit.




So here they are on my casting up table with some of my soon to be dipped in my colourwash sci- fi propss that cost nothing except the plaster to fill them, because I used plastic packaging for moulds. I`m not a gamer, just an author of very tall tales.




This one has a peg left hand side but nothing was upon the sprue that plugs onto it.
I guess there will be extras later on that do.



This one went together A OK!




I had a devil of job getting the right arm to fit on this guy.

It is interesting to note that while I was watching Games Workshop stuff on You Tube,the small boxed sets of three figures retail out at £10.00 each. Now that's a crazy price to pay on something containing little content. Figure wise I mean, but I guess the game plan rules also included plus a little book of instructions does give useful information on how to play.

So on my purchase on the 1st issues yes I got 4 paint brushes, along with £40.00 worth of spaced out figures, plus 12 tubs of paint worth £18.00. Which is exceedingly good going as I only spent £7.96. I like getting freebees.

Beat the Drums Softly




A number of loose sprues



These are the last of the warlord games French infantry poses needed for painting. Here it was cheaper to buy boxes of them, rather than the loose sprues.



A small contingent of Prussians. These will join the swelling ranks of Bluchers army.



A few of these are to man La Haye Sainte, to be painted up as The Kings German Legion at Waterloo.
The 95th Rifles are for the sand pit overlooking the farm house. Both regiments had the same uniform and were armed with the Baker Rifle. I also bought lots of single figures too,in the firing, loading, and advancing poses.

My Mrs B, smiled at seeing me painting toy soldiers again. BB

A sprue from the new BBC GAMES produced by WARLORD GAMES under Licence.
Not interested in buying the expensive game I bypassed it and bought one sprue to check them out.



They clip together and therefore have no bottom plate. Not interested in buying more of these .

HOWEVER MY SEARCH CARRIED ONWARDS



I bought a few of these games trashed the cardboard kept the Tardis and Daleks.
Only needing one Tardis the others are in the charity shop.


Now the quest was on to obtain more Daleks from the same mould.



I found them and bought the entire stock of Imperial Daleks.
Being greedy i avidly await the rest to arrive in the Mail. BB

Now why didn't they make these in 1.72 too? They're far superior to the Esci/Action Toys/Italeri set.

This new Tudor Tower I picked up real cheaply, it will replace the one Mrs B,liked so much she asked if it could remain as an ornament on top of our fireplace. Of course it can, `I answered', I`ll fudge another one up from somewhere.

So true to my word, here it is.
To avoid scratching stuff these have a very fine soft felt stuck to their bottoms which would be destroyed to utter ruination by my hobby style antics. so that`s why bb bought this one.

This will be split up as seen in the pictures above and eventually used as Patterns.
A good project of passing a few days with something exciting to do.
Like I wrote before, `Spoil others', then spoil yourself.BB

Are they true 28mm? Usually the 28mm animals are much closer to 1/72 and the 1/72 are 15mm

Hi FredG,good question. Just had delivery of those animals, and most of the smaller ones would suit a 1/72 scale scene. Placed here because drum role please? They are and were listed as 28mm.
The Cows & Donkeys stand 25mm in height and 36mm in length.

bb, only bought them because he liked the dog, pussycats, chickens, geese and ducks.
Although the Porkers would look good on any spit roast. Very true.

These along with others still in the cardboard box will at least last me out..

With supplies of real cheap brushes no longer available on the high street in Norwich,i determined to buy elsewhere on line,because I was down to my last cheap brush. i use them for mixing up plaster,and for my own dunking in colourwash. And for decorating Mrs B,s floor.

Tip of my day.
Wash the brushes before using them as this gets rid of any loose hairs.
bb,once mixed up a large batch of colourwash for dipping in his castings only to find it had masses of swamping hemp hairs swirling around in it.
Very true little button.
One learns by making mistakes and in my time I have made plenty. BB

Those animals turned out to be useless things made of brittle plastic. With thin legs that broke off upon trying to remove them from the sprue. Yes I used a clipper designed for such a task as that only to find legs a flying every which way across the room. At least I retained my magical laughter throughout it all, and its always a blast writing of it for all you guys..

One has to find such enterprises funny as we live and learn the hard way. I can with all truthfulness say that I have seen much better plastic fall out of a Christmas cracker. You know the cheap ones and not those with expensive gifts inside for the idle rich.




So beware of Material Supplied by HELLYAR PLASTICS. This rubbish sells for £15.00 on War Lord Games. So I cannot recommend it,
unless you like to see legs a flying about your hobby working space. please wear safety glasses. I believe I will buy some metal ones in the near future. BB.
