Hello,

My name is Jeremias and I'm into collecting 1:72 Miniatures since I've been a child. I'm 27 years old and live in Munich. I just recently returned to the hobby because I finally want to finish my half painted Napoleonic armies which gather dust since several years now.. Actually I found this forum, because I was directed here to contact Leonid for his splendid Napoleonics (I've never been too happy with the available French Line Infantry, regardless of manufacturer)

Oh and I have to start with a question right away: is it normal that the "sent message" folder always remains empty, even if I submitted a message? I've tried to send a PM to Leonid, but it seems like it didn't work out : /

well, so far..some pictures of my collection to follow soon.

When you send a PM it will be placed in the outbox. When the person who it was send to, opens it, it will go the send messages box. Hope this helps you?

Hello Peter, thanks for the welcome and the help concerning the messages :) Unfortunately it also states "Folder is 0% full (0 from 100 messages stored)" in the outbox.. somehow the message seems to have gotten lost. Oh my, I'm 27 and already seemingly too old to use a simple forum software ;) Guess I just try again.

Hi, guys!

My name is Evgeniy (Eugene) Strekalow. I'm 25 years old. I'm from Russia. I live in Voronezh city. It's one million people city south from Moscow 500 km. I studied at the Historical Faculty, and i'm Master of History. I specialized in Russian History, but my interests are wider. I'm sorry for my English. I finished to study English near 5 years ago, and I forgot so many language rules and words.
My main interests are history and miniatures.. and my wife :-D Earlier i had others hobbies such as WWII reenaction (Red Army), miitary archeology, etc...
My job is paintng miniatures. :-) About 2 years ago I left my teacher profession and I started to perform painting orders.
I'm interested in miniatures since 10 years old. My first kit was Zvezda's "Crusaders" (Italeri repack). Later my interests in historical periods changed many times. I painted Ancient, Medieval, Rennaisance. Napoleinic, XXc etc.

to be continued. :-)

Kind regards,
Evgeniy S.

Hello,
now that I am a member quite a few years I forgot to introduce myself. I am sorry for that.
I am 42 years old, my real name is Patrick and I am working busy on my retirement in a few years. No, not joking. Meanwhile I have a shop for cashmere clothes at the coast of baltic sea in northern Germany. I am married since a few years and 14 months ago my son Constantin came to us.
I am collecting small scale soldiers since 1979 starting with AIRFIX british paratroopers. Playing not painting was the main use of them. Within teenage days everything changed and ACDC, Metallica and Accept came to be the middlepoint of my life and I threw around 4000 WW2 soldiers away. In a trashbin. No Hong Kong soldiers, but real ESCI and AIRFIX ones.
A few years later I started again with napoleonics. Excessively. And my collection grew up to 10-14.000 soldiers. Mainly painted ones. In the meanwhile I sold some I did not use on Ebay. So I got lots of customers that wanted these prepaired and painted soldiers. Since the day a mad collector made me a proposal which I could not refuse. He bought my whole collection. With lots and lots of sets that were never to recollect again. So a few years now I am building up a new collection. Title: all set in 1:72 from 1700 to 1815. Metal, Resin and plastic. If someone makes napoleonbics from wood I would buy them and paint them also...
My wife is tolerance in person so I got a big cupboard, put some LED lights in and some boxes for screws and two drawers. At the moment it is enough space because I am taking always one figure in one pose from each set. Sometimes my feeling is that the collection could get finished but then FRANZNAP makes something new, ARTMINIATUREn brings out a few new good sets but has a few dozends of sets which I did not have ordered yet and so on. Then I am crawling through Ebay Great Britain and finding out that there are companies from the seventeens and earlier that made 20mm napoleonics which are the hardest to find and whre I have to phone my banker to find out that I can buy them or not. So it was a liberating insight that this collection will NEVER be finished. It is a process.
Since a few weeks my son took a look what his Dad makes with this small things in this lighted cupboard. And he tried to grap some rare resin napoleonics from Franznap and thought mmmm mmmm candies. But before they were to collect again out of his pampers I gave him some seveties Airfix 54mm british and scottish and french napoleonics. From that on he was infected. Yeah, next generation mad collector!
Kind regards

Patrick
