Well I am never one to be scared to voice my opinions. If Getting Back to Basics, Is a cost cutting exercise in order to keep this Forum on Line, then I agree with your proposal Benno. I realise only to well that this Forum is free, but not without cost. However removing larger scales would effect the way that I can support this Forum. Not a point of Vanity! For me now nearing 67,my eyes are growing dim.So only small scale painting for me is not an option I can consider. BB

The larger scales remain. The amount of "other scales" forums will only be reduced from 41 to 4. And the subforums from the 1/72 forum will be displayed fully on the homepage directly. That's pretty much it. :-D Cutting down the amount of other scales forum will not reduce server costs however.

So if everyone is fine with it I'll rearrange stuff somewhere in the upcoming days. So if anyone wants something of his or her chest, this is the time to speak! :-D

It has been a long time since I visited the forum for the last time ... I'm ok for the 1/72 focus ! that's the "King's scale" as we all know ...
and I will add that I was very annoyed when I've had to choose between 6 or 15mm and ... 54mm !
(I know that it's another subject but are you sure that we can vote in a comp with all scales ? )
And I agree with Paul about the 28mm and the wargamers : Benno's is not a forum for that ! ... or I'm wrong ?

I'm happy to hear that :-D

SamSagace wrote:I know that it's another subject but are you sure that we can vote in a comp with all scales ?
Yes, the competitions remain open for all scales. I don't foresee a sudden increase of people entering the painting competition with other scales. It didn't happen in the past two years, and I certainly don't think it's going to happen in the future. If there are enough entries in other scales, it justifies a seperate competition for the other scales. Until then we just keep them together.

Benno's Figures Forum is an open and friendly place for all people. It's been like that since the forum started. Many of us like 1/72 scale stuff, so there are many subforums for them. A few like to paint in other scales too, or like to wargame, so there are a few subforums for them too. This forum will probably never become a wargames forum, or a 28mm forum, because there are other forums that are better suited for these subjects, and people know that. :-D

Can you please tell us why only this section is protected, and can't be seen by a visitor?

I had no idea those forums were protected and were not visible for visitors. I thought Sho meant to ask whether those forums wouldn't disappear, like the other other scales forums. I just changed the settings and it should work now. Thanks for notifying me.
