I have to announce that our good friend and hobby mate Sven Schmelzer passed away last week on August 13th. He was member of the "Kurpfälzer Figurenfreunde". He was only 44 and leaves a wife and a daughter behind.

Every member that goes away from this forum leaves a bit of emptiness behind.
But in this tragic way... I'm speechless.

We'll miss you Sven... may you rest in peace

So sorry to hear this! Much to young! We will miss you!

Condolences to his wife and child!

In memoriam

Sven was known on this forum as Phalanx. I remember him as a very friendly guy who was always willing to give tips and tricks to become a better diorama builder, figure painter and so on. And that was he was an excellent hobby friend. Work of him can be seen on his blog and here on the forum under his username.

Here is a beautiful picture of Sven that I found on the WWW.

Rest in peace my friend!

These are very sad news.

Even if in most part of cases we don’t know each other personally, the belonging to this page and all the sharing we do in here build some kind of friendly links between us.

Having a family myself, I can easily imagine the extreme sadness of this moment. Hard to find the right words…

Man, I just got home from vacation in Germany.
What a sad news this is.
I remember Sven as a funny and interesting man.
He took his camper and drove to FIGZ a few years ago.
He will be missed, not only by his family but here as well.
Rest in peace my friend.....

I want to believe he is going to be better
I want to believe he is smiling at us from above
I want to believe he is building celestial diorama
I am sure he is living in his wife and daughter hearts
I am sure somebody up in the sky is taking good care of him
Still it's terribly sad. Rest in peace

P.s. thanks Peter and Konrad for sharing pictures
