Thanks, I'm happy I've found this forum
Well, I kind of liked the colourful appearance of the Celts so I bought a few boxes of those while getting some more Romans. It's been fun painting them since they are so different; the Romans mostly look all the same while the Celts have all kinds of variation in colour.
The Italeri Romans painted up
Celtic cavalry(Italeri). I made my first conversion with these, using the upper body from a footman to make the leader on the white horse.
I've been having a long hiatus from painting miniatures but have currently come back to the 1/72 scale. I'm amazed at all the historic periods that is covered by the 1/72 scale and the Plastic Soldier Review has been really helpful in getting an overview on it all and what sets to buy. I've left the Roman & Celts behind me and are now painting my first Assyrians(from Caesar) having been interested in that empire for some time. I recently bought the computer version of Field of Glory and was quite pleased with how it played so I have a loose idea of making a starter Assyrian army for that ruleset.
