Dummies

Posted by steve_pickstock on 28 Jun 2011, 12:20

Does anyone do 1/72nd scale male (or female) dummies for figures?

I have an idea for a figure (actually I have loads of ideas but something I saw recently made me think this is do-able) but I don't have the skill, and I am too lazy to build the figure from the ground up. A simple armature figure would be best for what I want.

Are any available in metal?

such as these - here - ah I was going to put a link to Hasslefree Miniatures' Armature figures but their webshop is temporarily closed. But basically it's a simple 'stick' figure that you do all your sculpting on to save having to go through the whole process of building an armature each time.

That's the stuff, the Hasslefree ones have a rudimentary head, but you can buy a selection of alternate heads to use. Problem is they're 28mm!

Yes, that is a possibility. Giving it some consideration I think I might have to sacrifice one of my precious Zvezda Austrian 30YW figures.

OKB girgourge ( I know spelling is way of) does PE armatures in 3 sizes the 23mm is very useful of 1/72 there 26mm is to large for me the 20mm is useful for women and ancients figures. I just it in the past but now i make wire armatures easy to make and a lot cheaper too.

Bumping this old thread with a link to my thread about Firma49 3d-printed dollies who are both male and female: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=26497

Thank you for that!

However, I am afraid that I have no recollection whatsoever of what I was talking about - that happens a lot these days.

I do think your armatures are a good idea, and they are very cleverly done :yeah: :yeah: If I ever remember what it was that I was planning :affraid: I will order one.
