The Dutch batalion in Korea 1951

Posted by paul haring on 06 Feb 2021, 15:56

During the war in Korea a dutch batalion also participated in the Allied forces.
They were part of the 38th regiment of the 2nd ( Indianhead) division op the 8th army.
The scene I created is a moment in the battle of Hoengseon, were they tried to withold the Chinese forces ( while the Americans retreated)
I used Airfix multiposeparts for a start, then a lot of Magic-Sculpt. The dio is made on an old lid of a jar. For snow I use a kind of powder peaple have to use when they suffer from obstipation ( Macrogol) I think is=ts sort of Magnesium.I grind it to a superfine powder.

Lovely conversion! And the troops should have very reliable bowel movements too!

Marvelous Korean War vignette. Stellar job converting the old Airfix multi pose figures. The real standout is the sculpting of the parka jackets. Bravo!!!

Very nice and very different.

They seem to exude the cold of that miserable war’s winters.

Best wishes,

Chris
