These are a few of the things I was painting before Christmas which I never got round to posting. I started on some samplers for the hussars and lancers (from flashing blade) I had got back in late april for my birthday.
I always do one figure to completion before painting a regiment just to see how they will look. I couldn't decide whether to do a hussar regiment or lancer, but eventually settled on lancer, I then decided to do neither the dutch or polish guard ones but the lancier de berg regiment in their limited use white and amaranth uniform. Don't ask why, I'm not sure myself, but if something inspires you you have just got to go with it
I then rolled on and decided to finish off my third british battalion to complete my brigade.
So now I am up to 2 british line in dark green and blue facings, scots with yellow, and a regiment of berg lancers and picton, hardly and army, bu tgetting there! I still need a few men each to bulk up each of these regiments which I plan to buy in february from the wargames show in york. That will make each regiment 40 men plus 4 command figures: 4x bases of 10 + 1x command base of 4 . When I have done my Zulu project in the WIP section I shall paint my hussars.
What are your votes on which of the two to do:-
blue and red?
green and red?
then I can hopefully move on to some french infantry and british cavalry and some artillery for both sides.
So heres a 'so far' shot of the Nappie project
