28mm Diorama "Ogryns To The Front!"

Posted by T. Dürrschmidt on 07 Oct 2023, 08:12

Hello,

this is one of my newest 28mm "Astra Militarum" Dioramas. To minimize human losses, they send in the Ogryns in now.

I like the appearance of the Wahrammer 40k Ogryns a lot. They look very brutal, not too smart and with all that used vehicle parts as armour and heavy (sometimes crude) weapons they offer a lot of conversion possibilities. I had to to a small scene with them.

And they also do have that specific ironic style, so you can´t take it too serious.

Best regards

Thomas

Two characteristics define these Ogryns for me. On the one hand, their fierce appearance that strikes fear into any enemy and, on the other hand, the high quality of the paint job applied on them.

Fantastic work, Thomas.

Great work!

For people of a certain antiquity - like me - Ogryns can only mean one thing.

The original article about Ogryns in White Dwarf magazine, was about the Imperial Guard having a fight with some Eldar, and in frustration the Imperial commander decides to throw in the big guys to winkle them out.

"Let's see how those pointy-eared degenerates dealt with some mindless violence!"

Immortal words and I have heard them uttered over the wargames table many times over the years (mainly by me, I have to admit). But when you've tried everything else - or even if you've jumped straight to 'unreasoning brute force' - it sums the situation up beautifully.

Besides all the positive aspects that
have already been mentioned,
I also see some first-class painted figures here. ;-)
