You have elevated model painting to an art form.

Best wishes,

Chris

First reaction, am utterly speechless. Magnificent! Now i'll look again, try to regain my senses, reflect some more and maybe tomorrow get back with some further comments. Thank you for sharing your art with us here at Bennos.

They simply look like real men wearing the real uniforms of the period.

I can't say better.

Superb. You have precisely the correct shade of blue as I perceived it to be. I'm not sure Prince Bagration is the ideal background but it is a fine painting of Borodino. Your drummer in particular looks as if it were an actual person. Your skin tones, weathering and basing are all excellently done. If there were one element not quite up to the rest of your painting I would say the ends of the sashes and epaulettes on your Marshals don't have the same high levels of depth and definition the rest of your figure does. It's not meant as a criticism at all, your work is fantastic and your color choices sublime.

Really magnificent work! I very much like the composition of the figures with pictures behind, and the way these are composed is first class. The painting of metallic weapons, accoutrements and uniform decorations (braiding, etc) is outstanding.

Well done!

Wow, Luiz,
just amazing painting. I am all in admiration of your painting, and Napoleon's guard is truly honoured to have such models as tributes to their history.
Also, it nicely shows the simple and effective clothing style copied by all countries and worn throughout nearly all of the 19th century.
Greetings
Michael

You should be displaying your work as widely as possible or is only mediocrity allowed? Excellent works such as yours help others through inspiration and instruction. I only dared to venture any criticisms because we are too familiar with our own work and find it difficult to remain objective. The value in forums is the input of members with a wide variety of experience and talents. Consensus here is you are at a top level, to not display your work is depriving the world of beauty and quality.
