Swiss Regiment Meuron

Posted by paul haring on 01 Feb 2022, 15:50

The Swiss regiment Meuron served as a mercenary force for the Dutch East Indies Company in South Africa.

Left figure is a medicin ( chirurgijn) A metal figure from https://www.modelfiguren.nl , 54 mil.

Right one is a selfmade conversion. I used an extra head from the medicin , torso from a Historex napoleon figure, arms from the Airfix Scot.

Painting is done in Valejo acrylics and Citadel Contrast

Beautiful figures you have there and very distinctive. Those Swiss meant business and thanks to your fine presentation we know they did it in style. If you're going to risk life and limb in combat you may as well be dressed to the nines. Superb conversion work as well.

Hi Peter, this paint is like ink. I use it in thinned layers on a base coat. After drying I highlight with the basecolor and the most highlighted parts with the base color and added white.
For the whites I use Apothecary white and this gives a beautiful darkening in the lower places. For skintones I use Vallejo sunny skintone with a layer( thinned down) of Guilliman's flesh
