Marsouin 1870

Posted by Guynemer on 12 Feb 2012, 13:48

Just finished a single 15mm figure yesterday, Franco-Prussian War from Essex. When I have time, I'll return to 30mm flats :-)

Comparison with an older figure, the 'Marsouin' (French marine infantry) is on the right:

Another picture on my blog, along with a DAK figure which would be in the 1/72 section if I had painted enough to present: http://guynemer-cigogne.blogspot.com.au/

Good painted minis

PS: there's something wrong on the settings of your blog. More specific when I try to post a comment, I get the warning that only teammembers can post comments. Can you check that out?

Beautiful, but perhaps the gloss could be toned down a bit

Thanks everyone! :-D

@Gerard Thanks! I really enjoy seeing your colonials and plain war armies! (last year of school has meant I haven't commented often, sorry  )

@Peter Thanks for letting me know Peter! The settings should be fixed now but let me know if there are still problems. I set it so even strangers can comment now, I'm not so good with computers

@Winttrix Thanks Emmett! You're right about the gloss- Humbrol Matt Cote doesn't seem to be matt at all, despite stirring. I might try the Army Painter spray :-)

Well, if it is his style, he should make it glossier :-D This hobby is 100% about developing a personal style.

I don't mind a slight satin sheen-it's unavoidable with the 'matt' sealer I use anyway. The camera flash makes it look much more glossy than it really is
