Beautiful as always! And usable in quite a number of different settings - workers on a construction site, workers in a winery etc. etc.
I love such versatile sets, especially when the sculpting and the poses are so good!

Dear Cryns,
can you say anything on the expected release date of the amphora guys?
It seems I have not bought a single item for our hobby this year so far - it's time to change that!

In fact the Ancient Greek Construction Workers will be one of my future sets: they will be building wooden ships and working stone for temples and walls.

One of the first things I was learned by professional producers in this business was: never promise a release date ;-)
But I am expecting them any moment to be available.
Are you coming to the 3. Dioramica? Schilling Figuren will be there too.

That is very nice of you. But at the same time I promised you Roman River Ships and I have not even started designing them because I first want to finish my Ancient Greek range.

The Crynsminiaturen Ancient Greek Merchant Galley scale 1:72 prototype is finished and ready for silicone moulding.

The mastermodel is made of bass (hull), beech (railings and other details), oak (base), bamboo (oars), cotton (sail), metal wire, soft metal bead-rings and two component putty. The cargo pieces are resin copies of putty sculpts.

The model is designed after a painting on an Attic Greek vase from around 510 BC in the Meermanno-Westreenianum Museum in Den Haag, Nederland. Additional inspiration comes from the deep sea findings of an ancient Greek Merchant Ship in the Romanian territory of the Black Sea.

these ships are really amazing and would compliment my collection nicely! One day hope to obtain and paint 1 or 2!

On the website top banner I see a warship, if even not in production do you have a gallery of all the ships you have made? thank you.

Thank you Howlin for your kind comments.

I did build six galley's, designed and sold by commercial companies. I have no gallery for them but I just fabricated a list for you.

At TMP there is a good overview pic: http://theminiaturespage.com/boards/msg.mv?id=543360

1: Dusek wooden model scale 1:72 of an 5th century Attic trireme based upon the Olympias reconstruction. You can find pictures here: http://bennosfiguresforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=18962&hilit=cryns+trireme&start=180 and its construction can be seen in two previous pages.

2: Aurora Roman Bireme transformed into a Greek bireme. Its a Vintage model from the 1960's and though designed in scale 1:72 its is reduced in size and number of oars. I removed part of the deck and added rowers inside. Though it already has rowing banks. Some pictures can be seen here:
http://bennosfiguresforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=9260&p=203464&hilit=quadrireme#p203464

3: Atlantic Greek Galley, a scale 1:72 soft plastic vintage toy from the 1970's, partly Roman in design, partly fictional, I added rowing banks and rowers inside. I removed the ridiculous captains hut. The designer of this ship must have been inspired by Hadrians Column depicting Danube river biremes and especially by a primitive image that is depicted in an Italians 1970 book on the history of seafaring. Some pictures: http://bennosfiguresforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=9260&p=203464&hilit=quadrireme#p203464

4: Zvezda Carthagenian trireme, the usual stuff. https://tabletopdeutschland.files.wordpress.com/2020/02/belagerungen-75.jpg

5: Zvezda Greek trireme, the usual stuff again. Bot can be seen here: https://www.geschichte-in-miniaturen.de/forum/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=251

6: My most rare ship is a Phoenician merchant galley in scale 1:100. It’s a wooden model kit, from an Italian producer (probably Amati) which I bought from Italy after it was build by the first owner. I removed keel and bottom and added 1:72 scale figurines to it. Its historical correctness is doubtfull but it’s a lovely model. Pictures can be seen in the above links. I do have proper pics of this ships which I can post if you have specific interest in this one. http://theminiaturespage.com/boards/msg.mv?id=475346

I own a further two galley models which I have not build yet: the Dusek Greek Bireme and the Heller Roman Bireme which is basically a replica of the Aurora Bireme buth bigger and thus more realistic.

Greetings from a sunny Amsterdam

Oh this is your creation? You have no idea how much it inspired me to go ancient with my plan instead of medieval and focus on naval battles. I love every bit of it. I came across this picture and was enamored with the ships. Now that I can see your fully body of work, you have created a truly outstanding little world. I have briefly gone through that long post but will have to go back to read all the comments to gleam what I can from your tips and techniques. the walls you have made are so creative and fun too. Thank you for sharing it all.

I wonder if you would mind if I use these images for a IMAI knock off of the Atlantic Greek warship?

Dear Howlin that is very nice of you. Good to read my work was an inspiration for you.

There must be a little misunderstanding about the paper print rowers.
These are designed by (and the property of) sculptor Frankzett from Germany who is not very active in this forum anymore. But you can write him a personal message.
