After a longer break, UR seem to release a new & surprising set now.

 There is a new golden age for ACW figs, so it seems. I can not see all the details, but Ultima Ratio normaly has a decent quality in their range.

Thanks for posting, Erich!

Great news,
A lot of good sets are coming from the band:
MARS, REDBOX, STRELETS, ULTIMA RATIO.

I feel it's going to be an expansive Christmas.
Cheers

I love Ultima Ratio, in fact they are now my favourite brand of minis. But this set I fail a bit to see it's interest, it is one of those that except for the banners, probably are undistinguishable, and with some conversion you would have it in 5 minutes.

I hope they release more new and exciting subjects, or so good that you need to have them (like the Gladiators or Musketeers).

I'll be buying a few boxes of these figures. Hopefully Ultima Ratio will also produce Confederate sets. The ACW was neglected for a long time until Strelets revived it. :-D

Another good looking UR set seems ready for release again.
UR015 - ACW Confederate Infantry / Texan Troops
34 figures in 14 poses. As with the Union Infantry / Irish Brigade before, 30 grunts in 10 poses and 4 command figures.
Hope we'll see some larger & clearer pictures soon. ;-)

:-D Most interesting.

Ultima Ratio is a company that is coming up with some quite appealing products in 1/72. It is interesting that they seem to be embracing the ACW as the 'thing' to pursue in 2022. Whatever the case, I'll probably be buying some of these new Confederates.

A 'well done!' to UR.

Despite the ongoing war of aggression the Ukraine is suffering from, the manufacturer Ultima Ratio is alive and kicking.
The next set to be released seems to be:

UR017 - Roman Gladiators (Set 2)
27 figures in 9 poses.
Hope there will be better pictures available soon.

Good to see them still making figures.

I have to wonder - they have labelled this set no 2 Hoplomachus and Thracians, which is fairly specific. Are they going to be doing other sets to complement these - retiarius, etc? Or did I miss the first set?

Hi Steve,
indeed, Ultima Ratio released an earlier Gladiator set a few years ago.

UR010 - Gladiators (myrmillo secutor szissor)
24 figures in 16 poses, one of their sets that offers an extra "command"-sprue (with one "double"/2-person-figure in this case). It contains 2 sprues with 8 poses and a single one with another 8 poses.

Since PSR is down at the moment, I took the freedom to borrow the picture from Linear-A website.
Think that will be ok... ;-)

Good to see more ancient sets, specially from such wonderful manufacturer as Ultima Ratio, but I have to say, I already have a lot of Gladiators! to be more concrete, I think I have all of them; Orion, Ultima Ratio, Atlantic, Italeri, Pegasus and Spartacus from Strelets. So not very thrilled I am afraid.

They look very cool indeed, a difference from the more typical Iberian warriors we are accostumed to. They look more "northernly", maybe more lusitanian than the usual.

A shame the set 1 was lost :( .

I agree, this is a shame, although let us be thankful that these are only the masters for small plastic figures, rather than real people. Let us continue to pray for the safety of those many talented people who supply our hobby from - at least in peaceful times - the Ukraine.
