Yes, picking grapes or brambles (depending on where the monastery is), or he could be holding a hoe or rake or broom.

Or perhaps he's waving to those unexpected visitors in the longships. Very versatile figure and I really like the expression on his face.

They're 2cm length in 1/72, adjusted to the Zvezda 100YW English infantry set. Of course the entire model can be made bigger.
