I keep reading g this thread since this morning and can't find the words to express how shocked I am. I obviously never met him personally but it is interesting to see how we can create a sense of friendship through a forum like this one.
My sincere and deepest condolences to all his relatives.

We are sad to inform that the founder of this site, Amos, passed away on 13th December 2019. We lost a great friend and inspiration. Our thoughts are with Amos family.
We will close the web shop for a while to sort things out but hopefully can we be back and continue the legacy of Amos work in his memory so his miniatures will live on.

Very sad news. It's difficult to believe we have lost someone who was so very active here just a couple of days ago.

My thoughts are with his family at this sad time and also with the forum members here who have lost a friend.

Amos made a big contribution to the hobby, as a pioneer in the 3D print technology obviously but I will particularly remember him for his ACW dioramas. He had a way of depicting an ACW battle with a realism that, to my mind, was only equalled by the helicopter shots in the film "Gettysburg". I always enjoyed seeing his photos.

This is very shocking news! I had just sent him some English infantry for the 100-yearswar and didn't hear from him. I got a huge thanks before I sent them, but after nothing. Totally terrible for his family! 40 years is nothing! A big loss for the hobby and our community!

I am very sad to inform that Amos alias Traveller1865 died last friday in Sweden.

We have lost a precious member of this forum and great inventor of wonderful vivid miniatures. He presented us really many impressive dioramas of epic sizes, a new realism and vividness of figures in action. His great love was the American Civil War, but also the Antique. He created later with his brand Speira Miniatures a very precious range of individual figures which enrich now many of our dioramas. It was always a pleasure to follow his ideas, projects and to buy his quite unique figures.

We will miss him much - what a loss! With deep sorrows our thoughts will been with Amos family and friends who will hopefully continue Speira after a understandable break.

Oh no that is awful! I did see a post on facebook but did not realise the post was refering Traveller1865! Terrible loss to the hobby and forum and condolences to his friends and family. Very saddend by this news.

Very sad to hear this. Condolences to his family and friends. Like everyone else, I will miss his regular updates on new and exciting products and his ACW scenes were always so enjoyable to view. I wish him all the very best.

Also Phalanx(Sven) died in 2018...Its very sad...I also had a couple of family deaths in last 10 years...It is very disturbing when it happens, especially to close relatives... I remember this last death it was like something hitted me, and it was a very close and dear friend to me, best if I may say...It took me 2 weeks to recover I walked thru town full absent what was happening...And he was practically for me there every day in half of my present life...His death was the most important thing for me and the family in 2019 and it marked this year...

My old friend Sven died in August 2015.
He was only 44 years old.
It is sad that so many friends have to die so young.

I saw Sven models he made...They were great...Great painted figures with great diorama details...I especially liked that castle diorama of his and my favourite the AIW with rocky wall and artillery and so...He was talented...

After this sad news, I think that a good tribute to Amos would be to show some Speira's figures painted by those who bought their figures.

It is with shock and sadness that I read this now, as only today I received my order of figures from him. These are intended as a Christmas gift so I won't even get to look at them until next week. I think Pedro's idea of a showcase of painted figures is a great one and I'll look to post something early in the new year. My condolences to his family and friends, he certainly was a pioneer in the 3D figure development scene, and will be dearly missed from our hobby.
