Nazgul

Posted by Susofrick on 22 Oct 2024, 11:22

I have showed these already but just as a pile of figures behind my Prussians. Here they are in all their glory. Hmm, there are more than nine .... Well, I painted nine figures and then I read somewhere that some of them where Numenoreans. Which means they are taller than an average human. More figures! But I liked the old ones so I will keep them. Also, in MiddleEarthRolePlaying (MERP), they identify all the nazgul and give them names and one turned out to be a woman so I painted one even if the sources on the Internet are totally against that idea (so I painted a male version too). :-D I used Dark Alliance Heavy Warriors of the Dead, Heavy Warriors of the Dead Cavalry (Witch-king), Cimmerians (set 2) (very small bases so they don't stand very well, but they tip over very well :eh: ) and some elves (set 2). Some of the figures just got one version, but some got two. A LOT of grey paint and black wash on these.

they are very nice but, why don't you base them on 1-2 cent coins?

Thanks. Well, they're probably end up in a scene some day. But I will probably put some of them on something bigger. Good advice!

They're splendid, however, the nine rings which created the Nazgul were only given to mortal men (doomed to die), so I suppose - yes, it's okay to have a female in there, but I'd doubt very much that an elf would be included. Apart from that good work.

You have made a very original painting conversion on figures from different sets to give them a common look, Gunnar. Great work!
