Hello Ralf
What a fine painting you have done again. Great color gradients, natural colors and a super detail work.
Only the photos could be a bit sharper in places. I think the southern trumpeter is missing the reins, so the horse's head looks a bit strange.

Wonderful work - the figures show such precision, excellent colour choice & the shading is sublime.

Your figures, of course, but can I raise the possibility of adding bases?
If you wanted to keep them individual, gluing the figure on a 20mm x 40mm base (mdf? card? plasticicard?) would give you a little space to create a base worthy of the figures.

Build it up with some sort of filler - I use Vallejo Earth Texture. add some small pebbles, bits of bark, maybe?
Put on flock, some tufts etc. No doubt, you'd create something that would look realistic & help to set off your figures.

I ask you to keep posting photos of your figures. They're a treat.
