Thank Konrad,
and Gunnar, for commenting so nicely.

:coffee: Well i am just an average artist author and analytical thinker, who see's puzzles everywhere and sometimes i even get to solve some.
:sst: it is called thinking outside the box...
:read: While trying to make one, replied the well feed book worm.
:sst: yes, said the little button.
 It sure is. Declared Mr Green.
:eh: It is eh? asked WingNut,
 Yes. :sst: yes.............. :eh: ok!

:coffee: I'm very glad how you guys simplified matters for me.
i will return soon with another start to finish.

:sst: within that sentence above and this one below,
 is where two oxymoron's come into English play.
:eh: Can anyone see them? because I sure can't,asked WingNut.

:cowboy: ' start , finish,' said the cowboy who always sleeps in his boots :read: above, below. declared the little book worm. :coffee: All perfect correct opposites! BB

:coffee: Ah, yes here are my three cut samples, and i seem to be getting the corner pieces set solid to square without it being to fiddly.
:eh: Where are the walls? Now don't get to picky WingNut,BB.is on a really low budget.
:eh: So really this is why BB, is cutting corners?

:coffee: Perhaps. .......................... BB

I think the only word that adequately sums up this thread is "magical".

Image

Stacking up pieces ,four to each step.

Image

Keeping them square is easy with a set square and the use of the tables raised edge.

Image

i worked on this throughout the night.

Image

i reached the point in the build where a complete square was stuck into place and this is the foundation where the right mapped out angles cut will change the direction of the next few stairs.

Image

The first cut angle was easy, just stacking it up like the others. i marked a slight arrow showing the way the kite form would point.

Image

Gluing up fresh pieces as i wait for others to dry cuts down on the time spent because it is all about proceeding to the next set of steps after this one is finished.

Image

Yes the kite is marked out which will change the direction to a right angle as the next step is stuck into place. But first i need to fix the over hanging top to finish off the next angled step.

Image

No this is not the piece i need, and yes working with angles can get awfully confusing even for me.

Image

Ah this is the correct shaped step to put into place, and the kite marked out will make it easy to remember which way it goes on. However yes it still needed the over hang top added.

Image

While i waited for the glue to set hard i put the other pieces all in a row just awaiting the finished effect.

Image

i turned the picture upside down which then shows the pattern flow of the steps leading up. i am pleased with how it looks to be turning out in more ways than one, however i might add two more steps.

Image

:coffee: There are a few more supportive item to add, which i term dressing up the box. :eh: Perhaps a wall ? and the post?
:sst: or a door? :read: Or a window? :coffee: i bet the next thing would be a floor? :eh: And a ceiling? :read: This might expand like the universe. :sst: yes.... infinity! :eh: What does that all mean?
:cowboy: Pard's, This could go on all the live long day.

:coffee: Yes ,so i'll see you on the next one. Stay safe. BB

Hello BB,
love the staircase constructions. Gives all sorts of ideas and memories:
Stairway to heaven, already talked about Escher's stairs, also reminds me of a childrens' book where the hero child at the end persecuted by police constructs a staircase into the sky (can't remember the title right nown maybe the hero's name was Robin?)
How will you continue... only the sky is the limit
Greetings
Michael

Thank you chris.
Patience is a virtue, and a peaceful skill to acquire.
Thank you Robert.
It is most interesting indeed to build a something supported by that which simply lies beneath.

This dusty old evolving place has no set limits to confine its unsolved, puzzling mysteries. After all it is Sir Percys Library. BB

Hey, BB.

The books on the top shelves - hard to reach.
Have you given any thought to a set of library stairs?

Here i added PC colour, and have removed each side off the photograph where walls touch and meet the steps, so as to create an illusion.

i left the paper card extended because i might have to add a step landing. Then i can trim what's left over lapping off.

As seen in The Wind in The Willows,a 19th century library step ladder. Perhaps this might go on instead of timing me out. BB

My first sample is made of cut off strips of paper card, and as such is very fiddly, with my shaking mitts, but it is not a complicated puzzle at all.

Image

Mine is based loosely upon the pull pit style above with a supportive rail running up the left side and around the top where there is a book shelf. i added an extra angled support on the two side frames for strength.BB

'My, 'o my, what a day had begun for i bb,4 it seemed an upside down sort of day in more ways than 1 and things just got darker in my inner thoughts as i began to write this dumpling of a helping-full both here and elsewhere.

Image

 Fred and MayBell had re-appeared, in the block buster, March of The Lego Men.
:eh: This,,, ain't,,, good. WingNut quietly mentioned with a quivering of his lips and final deep 'Gulp' to his throat!
 I fully agree,'Mentioned Mr Green', there's no gravy with the dumpling!

Image

:coffee: Yes it is very true, that things planed did work out but all the same this seemed to me like a large siege tower for invading troops. So in this end of another beginning the clip in steps were all that Sir Percy really needed.

:coffee: Until the next one bye, bye every one .BB

That ladder is genius, as is the project.

Your commitment is to be applauded along with the vision.

Excellent craftsmanship on display and the books are a real treat.

Best wishes,

Chris
