Yes , they were produced from the smallest Spaghetti mould. The Shadows came Free!



The stuff I use.

These are two of the new rubber moulds , with Sellotape bound around them.I`m casting up four moulds in total,one after the other,and yes, repetition is the name of the game,and these cheap home made moulds are producing rather fine castings.





A new way of getting detail on the bottom sections of the mould.The Plaster of Paris is brushed on to avoid trapped air bubbles,then its turn upside down on a piece of card and then completely cast up. Agitation with the small brush remove air bubbles.



The top is cut level.

Interesting configuration, but Photo`s are providing good intell too.
I do need to make some stone steps before the upper parts of each building is designed from scratch,but How on earth does one make stone steps for such structures?
Leave it to me,I`m a Pondering upon the answer. BB

I cast the last of the columns today. In the end the combined five moulds produced 92 columns. So having finished with them ,they can now be destroyed and are destined for Landfill. Looking on the bright side,I have more than enough needed for hobby work. Hopefully in the near future I can find plenty of good use for them. For now I need a couple of days rest just to chill out without seeing repetition, repetition. BB

Thank you Dalibor, I`m glad you are liking it more and more. I intend to make a base for this one,with steps leading up to the entrances. I am presently engaged in making new moulds for the upper ruined stonework that forms a double Apex to each end of this Temple. Below the Double Stone Apex structure,two entrances flanked by four colums on either side will be at each end. Figures come in all shapes and sizes,but many lack the right Sci Fi or Fantasy settings in which to show them,like in my storybook tales so this is the main reason for the build and the purpose of showing certain details in this topic,and with the passing on of affordable workable tips.

The irony is I have no fantasy figures,so what I have in my collection will have to serve and I`ll make do.

I will need four more columns to finish this aspect of this build,then the mould can be destroyed. Much to much of my clutter in our small castle as it is. BB

Peter,I am a dab hand awkward so the broken ones are easy for me to make. Never thought my odd modelling adventures would lead me along an ancient pathway of ruining my own work.
I`m also very interested in creating shadows because I am becoming quite tight with money.Well I`m down to my last few millions, and shadows come in quite free. BB

£24.83 in British Pounds,which is I feel is an affordable amount of dosh for those interested in the look of the place as Paul would have seen it back in the day of Bible times.

Good news is that I am now castings new moulds for this project,and there have been a few hick cups, ( Problems! ) but nothing to serious. I`m pleased with the end results. Hope to show them soon.BB

In part they will help make an odd Temple of sorts that lay in splendid ruins.

Mrs B,brought home some large floor tiles that were free,and i plan to use them to make the top. As for my home-made steps,i have used other stone steps, but painted ones in Sci-Fi and Fantasy type story`s__ I sure do miss that Sub Forum Heading.

Other Scales are just One Large Jumble. BB

and you have to be prepared to deal with a few difficulties with the construction...and that it´s about as historically accurate in portraying the Parthenon as the film Braveheart is in relation to the Story of William Wallace.
