My wire arrived today and the three tree`s are now complete in my own metal angle design, that is twisted as fine as i am able. It is a bright relief to be able to work on them again with my usual satisfied smile. The work will therefore continue in my other open ended topic Link Provided. viewtopic.php?f=15&t=22763#p249247

To stand beneath those Sweet Chestnut Tree`s must have felt good Jan?

Although most of what is left is dead,there is one that produces both leaf and nut even now lower down near its base. i must admit these seem to have been overlooked old forgotten friends, but that is just my wondering passion for wishing to make them i guess? i have not heard of anyone else ever wishing to?
Which is a mystery to me,and a fuller mystery to write of them in their directive eastern stand. i i i BB

Very tempted to try some trees, but then I don't have time to paint. So it will have to wait! But I hold you responsible for it if I ever finish my very old Gataskog-work!

After seeing some of these painted up recently i determined myself to find the easy conversion i formulated years ago when this debacle of a kit was released.



The horse with the broken ankle. What a dip stick of a mistake.



The horse above is A OK, but the one above that needs the ankle resetting into a permanent position.



Grip by thumb and finger ...



.. and simply pull it outwards away from the leg.



So no cutting, twisting or over-thinking involved in this, 'putting it to rights conversion'.

There you go Pards, once painted they can gallop away. Well they sure can.BB

PASSING BY

A detachment of Napoleons Young Guard rest up in a tiny village. They having been given orders to stay with the Forge and the British Gun.The far rumbling sound of the Guns had been heard throughout that afternoon,and as the evening approached they themselves had seen no sight of any of the enemy.



However It is surprising sometimes what is missed just around the corner.



Foot soar weary Nassau Grenadiers, but these were lucky enough with not having fired a single shot in anger all day.



Looking to their front they had not seen anything of the French.
As they passed through the village and way beyond it...



..." i don`t believe it!"

i guess it to be another strange thing to happen ?

i remastered this old photograph that show the mystery of that bricked up doorway and the upper ventilation windows above it, and where another doorway that had been bashed through the wall had a metal sliding door fitted in front of it. In the picture this doorway was also bricked up,and it was below and between the two vent windows. So well after the Waterloo battle the main door was bricked up and the sliding metal doorway and windows were added to this converted Cow Shed. All the waste from the cows was mucked out through the sliding doorway,and the stink vented out via the windows, which seems to have been a well thought out and efficient system.

What good are Laws put into place if they are not Policed? Another fair argument is this remained a dilapidated working farm with its solemn decay clearly allowed.

Did the owner of the farm live in that grand house built after Waterloo? It can be seen peeking into view in the top far left corner of the old photograph. That i believe is also no more,but is perhaps another mystery for someone else to reveal and refine?? Perhaps there is a missing Link after all to find there among the overgrown tree`s of our time?

The story with the Nassau and French troops reminds me on a scene in the movie "The longest day", where German and American troops pass eachother with just a hedge between them, all of them looking at the wrong side!

I will copy the idea of the Guard Horse Artillery Driver seperated and converted into a relaxing pose. Working very well with the waiting infantrymen.

Yes those figures are easy to separate with good eyes,a heart for conversions,steady hands and a wicked sharp pointed craft knife. i recall pinning the figures butt down through those barrels and crates using fine dress makers pins. that sure made their eyes water.
Such pins are always handy to have in ones working style craft kit. Along with bottle tops and string...

However blu tac fixing, or varnish would do that little artful job too.
i found the glue i had at the time melted the paint off. yip it certainly did.

Although Water Prof P V A, White Glue applied and left to go tacky will act like contact glue when both parts are fixed together in a reliable manor.

Always good to get comments guys.
If you never hardly get any on your open ended topics, keep a watch of those viewing your stuff daily. It can be surprising how inspiring numbers like the stars above stack up.

More kindred spirit of advice,
is never judge your work by what others can do.

i made my sci fi props using plastic rubbish as molds, for instance, sandwich and cream cake packaging. i even used the Sunday Roast Chicken tray packaging it lay on. The large plastic delivery trays Yogurt came in at the Super Market was also used. As these are usually thrown away the guy at the Shop let me have one. Other props were made from Tea Light packaging and i found my stash of steps very useful to help create the Sets i would use in my video. Of course Fred is there along with Space Marines.

It is not easy finding copyright free music,but i finally found some under Licence to aid the Arts. Which suited me fine. i don`t get many viewers because i will not allow advertising, so i`m on a low restrictive licence... Anyway it is just playful fun that costs me nothing more than time.



Cake Packaging! The Cake Industry spends millions each year producing patterns so i can take advantage of this with no extra cost, because it is rubbish! The one above has produced some cool results and will be included hopefully in the near future on some topic.
