New range of SCW aircraft

Posted by Lluis of Minairons on 12 Oct 2013, 22:54

I'm happy to show you the first results of a new range we had been silently working out for a long since. What you see in the attached captions is the very first model of our new range devoted to Spanish Civil War fighting aircraft, that will be developed at 1/100th and 1/144th scales alongside --not discarding to bring them into 1/72nd too, depending on demand volume.

Yes, legendary Polikarpov I-15 "Chato" is ready for lording Spain's skies again!

Following our usual philosophy of easing wargamers' life, such new aircraft models are to comprise very few parts; the larger of which will be made of high-quality resin, while those smaller ones will be cast in white metal for their higher endurance.

Just as with our land vehicles, our aircraft are to be sold in boxed sets also including a decals sheet that, in the case of our Polikarpov I-15, is to bring you USSR and Spanish Republican markings, as well as three different Republican squadrons insigniae.

I'm afraid that this new air line is not to be considered a low cost one, though --due to both our quality commitment and the decals added value: while a regular 1/100th resin airplane model uses to cost between $12 and $15, we won't be able by any means sell them for less than €15. Apologies for that.

Polikarpov I-15 will be released at 1/100th scale by late November, being shortly afterwards followed by its 1/144th version. The next model to be released will be Fiat CR.32 (at both scales too), that has already been prototyped alongside with the above --so that it's just in queue for being brought to moulds.

For a few explanations and captions else, please read this post in our blog.

Cheers,
Lluís
