Plains Wars in 15mm?

Posted by Harry Faversham on 16 Jul 2021, 03:50

Who makes the finest figures for refighting the Plains Wars in 15mm please? I'm thinking of my next project as a Custer's Last Stand/She Wore a Yellow Ribbon theme, in the grand manor. So it'll need Cavalry, Injuns, all the bits and bobs for an Indian village and a wagon train to massacree!
Any advice as to the nicest figures to accomplish this would be most appreciated.

I originally did this with the Atlantic wild west figures, not quite 15mm but HO (1:87 scale). Long sold off now. My club is currently planning a Pony Wars day next month, but that will be in 28mm played over a lot of tables.

So did I, back in the mid 70s Beatties had a sale of all their Atlantic Wild West stuff. Big Indian village was built, tribe of Indians, Regiments of Bluebellys and wotnot... they were superb cartoony like figures with excellent animation and we had great fun with them down the Rio Grande on my sandtable.
When I became a 'proper' wargamer I gave 'em all away!

You may want to have a look at Peter Pig 15mms, who have a large range of 'Wild West' figures, plus lots of bits and bobs: www.peterpig.co.uk/wildwest.html

Lancashire games also do this, but in 10mm...which is probably a bit on the small side for many of us!!
