The Panzerkampfwagen VI "Tiger II" was a late war tank of the German army.
Thick armoured and equipped with one of the best tank guns, it was superior to any allied and soviet tanks (except for the IS3).
It was so feared, that it's enemies usually tried to avoid direct confrontation and rather shelled it by artillery or called for air support.
Despite its overwhelming tank abilities, it still had the major German tank flaws, such as: high fuel consumption, motor breakdowns due to its overweight, low quality steel due to a lack of Molybdän and slow speed.
Most of these tanks were destroyed by its own crew due to lack of fuel and breakdowns.
The reason why I choose this model for my next diorama was simply the fact that I still had that model from my childhood days and it was so ugly, that I couldn't stand it anymore.
I stripped down the old paint, repaired some parts and then started with the now look.
The SdKfz251 I had also left from old times and I thought it would be a nice addon.
