The prices !

There was a further private dealer with several old kits.
But he see me and say unfriendly no pic. I ask why and he came to me
(arrogant) and say: "Darum !". (therefore)
Great answer !
Never get something like that before in all these years or model shows I visited.
I punished him so incredible hard by passing his booth with my money and on top missing his staff at the world leading forum here.
Was that too much ?

And another dealer.
If you order the wrong stuff en mass ...


In an other room there was one private seller who will sell all his stuff for sure.
One model 5 Euro. Three for 10 Euro.
With the start of the journey to Antwerpen I swear to me only to by supporting material no more kits!

Nice model.

I landed in Rome in (around 2001) and get no baggage.
And get later on told.
The pilots, crew hear in the air to Rome that SABENA is bust.
They landed and leave the plane immediately to hire for another airline on.










Never clean your parts in too hat water. They shrink !

My participation in the competition with four Dio.
This year: Planes in Dio, ALL SCALES ! And the same for military Dio too.





Price giving ceremony was different to the previous years.
Now you get a stamp at your card for your model. With Gold, Silver or Bronze, or nothing of that.
Than you go to the referees at the end and show your card then you get your medal.

The referee told me that the big problem that I get nothing is that guy.

Thanks for sharing. Nothing is too harsh a penalty to give the dio with the cardboard box man!

The seller who did not wish to have his sets photographed was almost certainly selling stolen kits, or he was authorized to hold them but not sell them.

Okay, that came out wrong. Your dio with the cardboard box man should have been given a higher score. There, that's better.

I really like that carboardboxman. Typical Wiking, but maybe the judges don't understand the humour or they just lack it totally. Great pics and I would have destroyed all those old Airfix-boxes with my drooling

With the NOTHING there must be someone guilty for that.
Someone is always guilty !
So - I - decide it was the carboardboxman.
To make a bit digs at Kekso.
But, cool Kekso let me run into nowhere.

There are traders for several actual plane, ship, tank, color, brush, bits and bobs, kits.
If you search for old (Frog, Airfix, Monogram, Azur, Heller,... ) or for smaller producers more unknown kits it is nice too. But mainly planes !

For figures it is like a dessert. Sometime there are a few. But for example this year only an opened box of well known WW II ESCI, Airfix did I find.

The Flanders`Modelling festival is not huge and is lowering every year since my very first visit in 2006.
It is obvious that the empty space get more.
This year was a stop, more traders, private seller as the past years I get the feeling.

I visit the event every year without any target. Let see what happen. Just put my nose in this box, check that small booth, see what this guy offer and so on.
And every year there is minimum one trader who offer a fair price, and catch me.
But every time different. Last year during the closing process I check the DH89/ Heller (The flight of the ... DIO) and the privat seller see me opening the box of the kit. Voice me a price I answered with two Euro lower and he say that I get it.
A side note.
Each time I buy something I give my hand for handshake- deal. This is often unknown to the seller.


And I get every time a medal in the competition.

This year I thought that this will be my last visit. Due to new rules in the competition. Put all scales together.
And the lowering of the traders, sellers in the previous years.
I was totally wrong - in all matter. The Festival was a very positive surprise for me. So I think next year it is on my radar again.

thank you very much for your long report and analysis. As it is not so far to go - like the FIGZ, you join as well I hope! - it might be nice to visit the show next year.
