Removing Dust

Posted by Bluefalchion on 27 Mar 2021, 14:47

I have many of my painted figures on a high shelf. I climbed up there yesterday to add my small gladiator and noticed that many of them are quite dusty.

Does anyone have a good technique for removing dust from a painted figure? If they were unpainted, no problem at all.

None of them have any kind of finish on them, either. All suggestions welcome.

I can only suggest a display cabinet. Or a cosmetic brush. I got an old one from my wife.

Thanks for the advice. My wife is never going to let me have a display cabinet, but perhaps a small cosmetic brush will be doable.

If I had a cabinet like this in the cellar, it would be full of wine bottles instead of figures
Great display by the way, and I don't even see your wonderful 1/32 Atlantic Ancients !

Back to the subject: I don't put any varnish on my figures, I am afraid to ruin everything... So when I need to remove the dust, I use a very soft brush, and I try to remain as quiet as possible. Much easier when you don't have loads of figures, like MABO

We just need one or two more competitors, and we are ready for a Dust-o-vision contest

By the way, I tried the cosmetics brush and it worked just perfectly. Man I love this forum.

Only problem is, while cleaning off the dust, I spotted some mistakes on a figure I painted 4 years ago. Aaaargh!

Wait untill the misses find out what you took from her! Then is a figure painted with some mistakes the least of your worries. Then you will find out what the real mistake is!

I am smarter than that, kind sir! I asked her for an old cosmetics brush or a lighted display case, and she produced item no. 1 in short order.
