The original figures were fantastic, but your paintjob has improved them a lot, Konrad. And I share the opinion that paper stickers have a great effect on the final result. :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:

Terrific!

You've made me believe the elephant is a living, breathing animal. Great work on the stickers, the muted colours blend in perfectly.

Fantastic painting.

The pictures have a 'feel' of the time to them.

Best wishes,

Chris

Excellent, once again a stunning composition!
Can you give a little comparison / critique of the Speira elephant compared to those from Zvezda? Which do you favor, and why?

I don't see any big differences in quality.
They are both nice models.
However, the SPEIRA elephant is significantly smaller.
But since it does not have to be assembled, all transitions are of course cleaner than with the ZVEZDA model.
I read that the Carthaginians used a small species of elephant (forest elephant) for war that is now extinct.
So the size would be historically correct.

I'm looking forward to your garden party.

Thanks!
So the Speira elephant is perhaps a good compromise: The Zvezda ones a giants, while the HäT ones are tiny (obviously they are meant to represent forest elephants, too) - it is nice to have something in between.

The Speira one looks much better! I become more and more fond of Speira, even though I am very bad at buying from them. There are so many goodies so I can't decide what to buy. Bought some ACW-figures a couple of years ago and the service was marvelous!

The last few days I’d been unable to login which miraculously changed for some unbeknownst reason earlier this afternoon (Thanks Benno and/ or moderators)! I was feeling bitterly disappointed at the prospect of changing my user name for over 12 years. Enough of me.
Absolutely loved this elephant and crew of yours Konrad from the moment you posted it. The paper adhesives were a master stroke and the painting of the elephant is fabulous. If I had to find fault I’d question if perhaps a further highlight colour might just have added an extra dimension to the beast. I think!?!
We all need to further check out this company Speira cos the elephant sculpt is superb.

Very fine work with beautiful natural coloration. I love the Spiera elephant, their figures are among the best out there. The paper decorations work wonderfully and appear painted on. I agree the size of the elephant is closer to reality than the Zvezda models. It must have been an interesting art to being a mahout and getting an animal of that size and intelligence to follow your commands.
