Those Dutch figures are so very detailed, fantastic sculpts.

Well, seems another post by Strelets went unnoticed here, so: Last Saturday Strelets posted a pic of the sprue of their Set 259 "Dutch cuirassiers". With the sprues of three of their WoSS sets now revealed, I suppose there's some hope the release is not too far away.

I agree. It is remarkable that Strelets are able to continue to post pictures of complete future sets, and with a declared view to producing these in the most difficult of circumstances. :yeah:

Incidentally, I've just noticed a new piece of splendid artwork for the box of one of the future WoSS Cuirassier sets, over on the Strelets site at:

The artist who is producing these new box-arts is talented indeed!

Strelets revealed more figures of their Nap. Russian Jaegers in greatcoats.

Good news is that that a few sets may be released in the not too distant future:
257 - WSS Austrian Cuirassiers
258 - WSS Bavarian Cuirassiers

In addition, they want to try to release further sets by the end of the year if possibe. :yeah:

Thanks, Erich, for this very prompt and up-to-date update from Strelets today.

I is admirable to see that they are 'soldiering-on', and have plans for release of new sets and continuing design work on others. Bravo! :yeah:

Happy to see Strelets posting updates again. The poses look really good, although I see on the Strelets forum the forage caps are not a very popular addition!

They've posted another update Friday last week. It's a bit hidden in a reply to another post so may have gone unnoticed, showing the sprue for the WoSS Musketeers of the King. No box art so far, but a good sign the set may finally be released.

Got my copies of the WoSS Imperial and Bavarian cuirassiers today! Take note that the picture on the back of the box for the Austrian cuirassiers shows the wrong horses, viz. horses at rest as for the Bavarians. The box contains however the correct set of horses: charging or trotting. The Bavarian box has the right horses depicted and inside. Otherwise, lovely figures as usual!
For those who value such stuff: the Austrian Cuirassiers are in brown, the Bavarians in light blue plastic.

Thanks for this information Flameau. I am pleased that Strelets are providing the appropriate horses for each set; I was initially a bit concerned that both sets would be on the cantering/galloping horses, which clearly would not have looked right for the Bavarian riders.

I am assuming that the cuirassiers themselves are sufficiently similar as to allow either set to be used for Bavarians or Austrians; or with tricorne head swaps for other armoured cavalry of the period eg: Danes?

An initial consignment of both sets arrived in the UK in the last 48 hours, and I have some of both sets on the way from Drum and Flag.

As far as I can tell they're perfectly interchangeable. As for head swaps, I'm going to wait for their set of Dutch cuirassiers with tricornes. These will be suitable for Danes too. Strelets has posted the box art for that set, so I think we might be lucky and see it around Xmas or early 2023.
As for the helmets, those are fine figures and I'm certainly going to use them - if only to add some variety to my troops - if you're a fan of historical accuracy however, you'll probably have to do a lot of head swaps, as both Austrians and Bavarians did not use the helmets for most of the war- if at all, despite all those nice pictures by Hoffmann or Ottenfeld ... .
