Interesting where did you find the description of the unit? I understood that Wallenstein had a lance armed unit of cuirassiers as his bodyguard.

Osprey Men At Arms Imperial Armies of the TYW, I may have used a bit of creative painting.

Me too.

Having said that, there is enough uncertainty as to just what was worn and by which unit in the TYW to be able to say "Well, maybe..."...although the unit here does have a very distinctly Italian/Spanish look to it, which doesn't quite fit with the character of much of Wallenstein's army. But very nicely painted; those stripes must have taken some patience. :-D

The remaining question is, of course..."Where's Wally...... ;-) I mean Wallenstein??

Hello Ells
Fascinating your output and highly inspiring.
The combination of the Bavarian flag with uniform of pope ´s bodygard looks strange to me as well, but will be a great eyecatcher when you build the actual scene of the battle - together with your guns
Greetings

Thanks I missed that somehow, possibly because it was red and white, which are more "Imperial" colours

You have done a fantastic job on these MM figures, ells10. I love the combination of colors you have chosen, the same as those of the flag of Spain, as well as of the flags of some of its regions (Aragon, Valencian Community, Catalonia and the Balearic Islands). :-D

You are right, Peter. As almost everybody knows, for me they are the best 1/72 figures ever made. And ells10 has used them very well in other history context different from the actual one.

Very good painting and presentation though in my eyes it is not very historically correct. The flag would be more suitable for Tilly or Maximilian von Bayern (which was a big fan of the virgin Mary). Wallenstein was a Bohemian nobleman (he was promoted to duke later) and he would have used his own coat of arms.

Nevertheless a very colorful unit.
