I was a Cop for over 30 years in a town that borders O'Hare airport, about 20 minutes from downtown Chicago, which I do not go to anymore as it has become much too dangerous.
No snow drifts so far this winter thank goodness!!
We've had snow this year and everybody freaked out - as they do.
We've also had a named storm - Eowyn. 100 mph winds record for the first time, but not where we live, a mere 50mph.
Here are a couple of pictures of my grand-dad.
The 'Ronald Coleman' look, I wish I could look that elegant!

He was in a Chicago barber shop once, and bent down to pick something up, just as someone sprayed the place with gunfire, fortunately he was not hit.
And rocking a sombrero he obviously did NOT want to wear.

He never flew when he came to visit, he always came by boat, and we knew he was imminent because a box of Manx kippers would arrive at our house (he ordered them as the ship passed the Isle of Man and they'd be air-shipped to ours.
