Attack on LHS Farm at Waterloo

Posted by Waterlooman on 15 May 2022, 00:45

Hi all, I am a new member and after seeing Benno's Fantastic dio of Waterloo, I decided to join and show the 28mm Dio I am currently in the process of building.
Its being constructed on a 90-60cm base and has a case also, I am using different makes of figures and a rather excellent MDF kit for the farm complex, I am also doing some scenery (first time) including some grass and trees, and the road way I had built for me.

I have doen far more work but didn't want to flood my first post with hundreads of pics.

Hope you like what I am doing -

Welcome to the Forum!

These are some good looking 28mm figures, and nicely-painted. It sounds as if your diorama will be an impressive size. Looking forward to seeing more of your figures, maybe including a selection of the green coated KGL riflemen defending the farm itself.

Keep up the good work :yeah:

Very nice work Waterlooman….. and welcome to the forum.
It sounds like a very promising diorama and am eagerly looking forward to seeing more piccies.
Ps/ Are both the Cuirassiers Perry ? I know the chap on the white horse is, unsure of the other.

Thank you All for the welcome and nice comments, here are some more pics of my progress - as I said I have done quite a bit already, I will try to show my progress.

First is Major Barring who was in charge of the 2nd KGL deffending the farm, he has since been flat coated to get rid of the sheen.

Sorry should have mentioned all the French are from Perry and some of the KGL are either Victrix or Wargames Atantic.

I used this Acrylic Top Coat in my airbrush - putting a couple of light coats on does an excellent job.

Yep, we sure do! Besides my son is coming over in a week from the UK and he can bring me some - hopefully!
Getting back to your Cuirassiers…… what a lovely figure this fellow is! What regiment is he?
Do you paint in acrylics? I have some metal Perry Cuirassiers and they really were a delight to paint…… I think it took me around a year to paint three of them….honest. After seeing these I am gonna need to get my hands on a box of their Plastic Heavies.

I have even made a 55th ligne Captain and Captain Standard barer, the info behind this - is he had the French Standard taken from him - but another 55th member picked it up and carried it (will come to that guy a bit later)

Beautiful work with excellent painting.

I think the shako cords should be green for the light company and the wings need finishing.

This looks like an interesting project with a high standard of finish on display.

Best wishes,

Chris

"Oppps" with the shako cords - bit too late for me to do anything about them as my other photos will explain.
