Early morning wake up call for General Custer!

The 'Boy General', getting an earful from his Bugler! Two figures, painted in very different styles, I wondered which style the Brethren thinks looks the best?

My vote Harry is for Custer. Bugler looks good as well.

I only painted the 'Ginrel', Bugler came ready painted. I've a great affection for Brittania Miniatures US Cavalrymen. They always reming me of the 1/76 Scale plastic Atlantic Wild West figures of 'yesteryear'...
but bigger, and all growed up!

I like the way the General is painted, subtle and lifelike. I don't see a bugle though looks more like a tuba!

BTW any tips for making blonde hair look good? I have a box of Zvezda Vikings waiting.....

My vote goes also to Custer. I like that way of shading better. ;-)

It's a definite vote for General Custer from me; he looks like the sort of fellow that I could follow to the ends of the earth...or even on an 'adventure' on the North American Plains..... :(

There is something peculiarly out-of-scale about the bugler: bugle, hat and pistol are all far too large. I can see the virtues of the painting style when this figure is seen at a distance, but I'm less sure about it when viewed close up.

The painting on Custer however looks very good !! :yeah:

I also vote for Custer. The spotpainting on the blue of the buglers uniform is not my piece of cake.

Ooops! Thought I've done my duty here, but apparently no. Custer also gets my vote. And that trumpeter must make him deaf! No wonder he didn't heed all the warnings, he couldn't hear them.
