Napoleonic French Line Infantry

Posted by Kekso on 06 Feb 2021, 15:25

Hi guys. I've painted Napoleonic French Line Infantry by Warlord Games in 28mm scale.
I hope you will enjoy it because I haven't enjoyed it while painting very much. White is not easiest color to paint and these uniforms have a lot of white parts. And I was disappointed with metal figures in this set (command group). At the end, I'm ok with the results but I wouldn't paint them again (soon?).

I think they look great. Is that vallejo flat blue, chocolate brown and basalt gray I see by any chance?

Vallejo medium blue or royal blue (I'm not sure which one I've used, sorry)

Sandalwood (Scalecolor) + Agrax Eartshade (GW)

Vallejo neutral grey

You did a lovely job, sorry you didn't enjoy it so much. The white on white works very well, with your technique. :yeah:

Very crisp paintjob, Dalibor! I would say they are pefect. Why were you disappointed with the command group?

Different (worse) sculpting than plastic ones. Their faces looks like someone chewed them.
And that was the case with every Warlord Games mixed (metal+plastic) and metal sets I painted so far. I think that only some Indians were exception. That one I would paint again for sure.

Thanks for the info, Dalibor. Never metioned that there is such a big difference. And I did not see it on the pics.

Nicely painted Nappy figures. I like the red, white, and blue color combination on their uniforms. Yes, the command set has some issues. The flag bearer looks quite stiff. The figure charging with the sword and pointing looks very unnatural. Still, you made the best of them with your paintwork.
