Some D&D

Posted by Kekso on 02 Jan 2021, 17:34

Finally, I've finished 2 figures I started in 2019. These are Nolzur's Marvelous Miniatures (Wizkids) for Dungeons & Dragons. Female druid and male monk. If I paint some more D&D figures (and I probably will) I will post pictures in this topic.

Exquisite painting. The face on the female wizard is incredible.

She's fabulous, I wish she'd use her magical power to shrink herself to !/72.

Very fine painting Kekso! As in D&D, you've won a new level as a painter

Thank you guys. These figures (Wizkids) are a bit strange (in a good way). Not as chunky as 28mm and are slim as 1/72 but bigger. Wizkids has awesome range for fantasy lovers and D&D players (I'm not player).
Drawback is that figure come pre-primed and that is an obstacle when removing mouldlines.
I would rather buy then non primed but it seems like mission impossible.
Oh yes, they're very cheap. I've paid less than 7€ for the pair. They're sold as a pair and that is also disadvantage - usually I like one figure from the pair and I dislike other.

Happy NY!

Very nicely painted Kekso. I have recently painted the same figures so I know the issues with doing them. I bet many people don't even notice the squirrel perched on her hand. Nolzur's are very good figures for the price and the best deals i've seen are from a place called miniatures market- less than $5 for a pair of figures. I started doing D&D figures as a break from 1/72 and am having a ball with it. Something nice about not having to get the correct colors for each bit of kit and creating your own color schemes. Real challenge for me because color has always been hard for me to master. Anyways your figures look much nicer than mine and I can learn quite a bit from studying your work so thank you.

At first I didn't noticed it either.

You got that right. Lately, doing research on uniform colors I find more exhausting than enjoyable.

That is less important. But I would like to see some of yours on this forum. If you have any questions just shoot ;-)
