French light infantry Voltigeurs HAT 28003

Posted by raph86 on 29 Dec 2020, 17:59

Hello, I had the opportunity to bring in this Hat box ref 28003 from Voltigeurs Français
After having painted the 1/32 ones of the same brand, I made just 4 figurines from the box...
Now I just have to paint the 1/72 scale ones to complete the loop.
I've just realised while cropping the photos that I forgot one or two retouching...

There, I found them nice to paint even if I missed moulding lines when deburring.
Note that the miniatures are injected in polystyrene so they are made of hard plastic like our good old armoured models Tamiya, Dragon etc...

Excellent paint job! A bit shiny in my opinion.

Absoluotely splendid painting of some very nice figures. I don't have this set but looking at yours makes me want to get it.

Excellent painted figures!

PS: I can be mistaken but when I see the number of the set, then I think these are 28mm figures. ;-)

Aha, I was wondering because I didn’t think they were available in 1/72 in styrene. It is a nice set, however, even in 1/72 - very realistic, well-proportioned figures, if perhaps the detailing is not too deeply etched.
Very nice paint job!

It seemed to me that I had read that Hqt was going to change its soft plastic for a harder one...
Polystyrene?

I think they just meant the harder soft plastic (if that makes sense) not styrene. The "rubbery" plastic mentioned was only ever used by HaT to the best of my knowledge, notably in their 1805-08 Napoleonic French Line Infantry, some of the British WWII support weapon sets and a few others.
