Nap Austo Hungarians

Posted by gbvarese on 04 Sep 2021, 12:14

Dear all,

As you might remember, I've been struggling to form mine Bianchi's Austro Hungarian Division. I've even made a rubber mold to reproduce in resin such soldiers. The result is not bad but it takes a lot of time ( see my post of March 2020).

Hat has published on its forum, a preview in 3D, of its forthcoming Austo-Hungarian infantry set, but it seems that it will take ages before we can see it really produced.

I've visited several times Art Miniaturen Zinnfiguren's web site : they seem to have a good range of Austro Hungarian figures in white metal. Does any of you have ever acquired any of them? If so, would you be so kind as to post some pictures which compare them with other plastic Austrian soldiers currently on the market (Hat, Italeri).

Thanks a lot.

Sorry, no pictures but I have assembled the unpainted forces for a possible Aslern Essling refight and have found that the Hat and Art Miniturian figures are compatible.

I have also provisionally thought of using the Grenzers for Hungarian Infantry to keep the costs down.

The old Italieri are small by comparison , the new ones, too large.

Bonkers.

Best wishes,

Chris

Dear Dodson,

Thanks for the answer. I've thought too, to use the Grenzers but to me their shakos are a little bit to small, as in fact they were.

Unfortunately Hat is no longer the brand what it used to be a few years ago. Their production of new sets have slowed down drastically, and it's virtually impossible to have any news on the ongoing progress: they often delete, from the dedicated forum, the forumers' persistent requests on the matter. This is not pleasant.

I've also wrote to Strelets, that now seems o be the emerging brand in terms of new releases, highlighting that a possible Austro-Hungarian infantry set, would be definitely a bestseller, but they never answered: perhaps they don't want to be in competition with Hat.

I would appreciate it if you could send, when you can, a few pictures comparing the metal Art Miniaturen soldiers with the plastic ones of Italeri and Hat.

Best regards.

Gio.

I made some quick and Dirty pis for you. Beside the Colourbearer and the mounted officer, I have painted them 15 years ago. So it is not my best work.

But I think it will do. One can see that they fit together, I would say.

Here you see them with the HäT Austrian Infantry 8027

The Art Miniatures were extensivly used for the "Cröbern 1813" Project from Wolfgang Meyer. The best dio of our time, as far as I know. In their gallery you can find some pics and Wolfgang also posted some in a German forum.
