SYW question

Posted by Ochoin on 17 Jun 2020, 09:11

I think there's a number of erudite members here who might help.

I'm a few short of suitable mounted ADC figures for my Austrian & Prussian SYW armies.

I do have several pare, unpainted Napoleonic Hussars: old Italeri ones. Looking at illustrations, they seem exactly the same as the SYW hussars.

Fur Busby + bag.
Braided dolman.
Braided pelisse, slung over shoulder.
Barrel sash.
Tight breeches.
Hussar boots (under knee, with v-shaped front edge).
The horses have the long, pointy-ended shabraque, with wolf-teeth's lining.

Good to go?

Well Donald I have used them. Airfix napoleonic Hussars for several figures.

Also those guys riding the limbers:

And also the limber riders.

Admitedly I had bought a ton of GNW stuff.

My blessing means little but I give it freely!!

Paul,
consulting Kronoskaf & a book or two that I have, the only thing i can find is perhaps the busbys were taller in the SYW & the v-shaped boot should have a slight A-shaped top.......not a lot.

There should be a pig-tail-queue. No problem, I've glued on a plastic broom bristle before & it works well.

I have been known to miss things.......so I asked here. I'll take your blessings kindly.
