Your models look great! They look like they use a lot of washes - do you take a long time to paint your minis? The end result is great, what's your recipe? Are the shield patterns freehand?

Yes, lots of washes and matte coat...

I couldn't tell for a single figure/base/army... I have hundreds of figures in progress from dozens of armies/periods at any given time. I jump from one to another or start a new one depending on my mood (I get bored of something easily if it takes too long... )
As I post them here, some figures have been on my painting table for several years.

Yes, shields are freehand... As most of the flags are...

With all the armies I have from this period, Visigoths/Carolingians/Normans/Vikings/Anglo-Danish/Early Muslim/Andalusian/Feudal Spanish, I can cover a good deal of southern Europe's conflicts between the 7th and 11th centuries

These pictures can represent from Poitiers to Roncesvalles.
