Mummies/Undead Egyptian Army

Posted by Kaiphranos on 24 Dec 2022, 19:27

Been working on these for the past couple of months:

Most of the army is Dark Alliance Mummies, but there are some from their Anubis Army and some of the old Atlantic Egyptian figures as well:

A few more pictures are on my blog.

Amazing Army! I really like the guy in the chariot and the Anubis-figs.

Very nice army. I was thinking about using those Atlantic chariots for Elves.

I wasn't quite sure about them at first (I thought they were a little small and the wheels were kind of bulky) but I like the look a little better once painted. The only downside is that I think they are definitely too small to carry a two-man (or two-elf) crew - unless the elves are very petite!

It's a fantastically painted and based army, Kaiphranos. I like everything, especially the Pharaoh Mummy in the chariot.

Good to see the Tomb Kings being revisited - at a much more reasonable price than Gamesworkshop's :p

Fantastic looking army! Love the overall brown tint on the whole lot.

Thanks! I ended up using a brown ink for a wash on the mummy wrappings rather than my usual Nuln Oil.

The undead have a new weapon... a great behemoth from days of old, reanimated by powerful necromancy!

(Or in other words, I finally figured out what I wanted to do with this plastic dinosaur skeleton I've had sitting around for years...)

A couple of pictures from the work in progress:

I decided to go with a more fossil appearance for the dinosaur skeleton to contrast with the bleached bones of the howdah. The rider is one of the Dark Alliance mummies with some considerable surgery to get him in a semi-seated position; the two undead with bows are Atlantic Egyptians.

Very imaginative all around! You have done a terrific paint job on that simple model skeleton and I like your use of the Egyptians as undead. Nice!

Very imaginative, and I like the dinosaur mount for these warriors very much! It will be intriguing to see what comes next. A chariot pulled by velociraptors perhaps?!! :-D :yeah:

I think you have made very clever use of that plastic dinosaur skeleton, Kaiphranos. The figures are fantastic and the bone tower is just amazing.
