Not at all, keep them coming. I am hoping that you might treat us to a full Swedish Brigade at some point?

What would be interesting, and would serve as a context for these many fine photographs, would be some information about how you have built this collection up. It clearly consists of many hundreds, maybe thousands of figures. You have clearly put a great deal of time and effort, and quite a lot of money as well, into creating the collection. So where did it originate from...and is it a collection for historical purposes, or wargaming perhaps? It's always interesting to know these things.

Oh yes, and very fine Danish infantry too!

Wow, these Thirty Years War units just keep coming! And no, I’m not tired if seeing them.
Again, I love your palette, and the look of the units all together look fabulous.

I like the fact that the figures and colors are not uniform, for neither would the real thing have been. Good show.

Hardly.

I congratulate you, especially with the wonderful blending of figures from several sources.
They are a joy to see.

Where did my inspiration come from? I have attended the Wallenstein Festival in Memmingen, Bavaria on a number of occasions and for those not aware of it I’ll try and explain what it is. Memmingen is a Medieval walled town in Swabia, Bavaria, every four years they hold the Wallenstein Festival which is normally weeklong. The whole town hands itself back to the 17th Century with shows, displays, parades, living history camps and battle re-enactments. What it does bring into the town is thousands of reenactors from around the world, each wearing the uniform from the country they come from. Now until I started looking into the Thirty Years War I was surprised about the number of countries, nations principalities etc that was actually involved in the conflict. So, when I started painting my figures I wanted to represent as many countries as possible on the field. I am aware that some of the Regimental Standards are wrong and that they wouldn’t have had as many as I give each unit, but these figures were only intended for my pleasure on my table. The figures have been languishing in boxes since painting and this is their first outing, I am so pleased that others like my figures and I am humbled by some of the comments from the real experts. Thank you.
