17th Century Scots Brigade

Posted by ells10 on 07 Nov 2021, 17:28

Dual purpose figures, for TYW they come under the guise of Mackay’s and for ECW they are Colonel William Gordons Regiment of Foote. Here we have two musket blocks, supported by an artillery piece complete with gun guard. In the centre we have the Highlanders who have broken rank to charge the enemy. Looking on we have the Scots pike ready and waiting to plug the gap.

These are very nice. I'd like you to identify the manufacturers, if possible.

BTW the flag in the second last photo is upside down.

These look very fine! I particularly like the pike block and the gun, and the whole gives a good impression of a disciplined Scottish infantry regiment with an accompanying (less disciplined) unit of aggressive highlanders.

I'm with donald in requesting information on the way you have composed these very large and impressive TYW/ECW units. I have a stash of these figures in a semi-painted state (which may yet see the light of day here on this Forum) and it is always useful to learn how a fellow modeller/painter of the mid-C17th puts units together from the various sets out there.

Very impressive work.

Figures used were mainly from Tumbling Dice, Irregular Miniatures, Strelets and GerMan.
