Beautifully-painted British Infantry and Riflemen. That song - 'Over the Hills and Far Away' - immortalised in the 'Sharpe' TV series, is about as English as you can get....other than, of course, Mr Faversham and his Sharpe miniature armed with what can only be described as a machette.

But what is Sharpe doing carrying an Eagle on a broken pole, next to the works of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (author of the 'Sherlock Holmes' stories). All very mysterious....

Yep, It's the illustrated copy of the Brigadier's adventures. The piccys of the slight changes in Hussar uniforms throughout the Napoleonic Wars are well observed, an excellent little reference work in their own right!
The other tome visible is Jac Weller's 'Wellington at Waterloo'.
